Job Overview
Wisp is hiring a Mobile Engineer to lead the architecture and development of its consumer-facing mobile applications across iOS and Android. This is a full-time, fully remote role within the United States, focused on building scalable, secure, and high-performance mobile experiences for a growing digital healthcare platform.
Founded in 2018, Wisp is a telemedicine company dedicated to making sexual and reproductive healthcare more accessible through discreet, online-first treatment. The company serves patients nationwide and operates as part of the WELL Health family, with a distributed, mission-driven team.
This role is a senior individual contributor position with high ownership, combining hands-on development with architectural leadership. The Mobile Engineer will be the primary owner of Wisp’s mobile platform while collaborating closely with product, design, backend teams, and external engineering partners.

Key Responsibilities
- Own mobile application architecture across iOS and Android platforms
- Design scalable, maintainable, and secure mobile systems
- Define and evolve mobile engineering standards, patterns, and best practices
- Lead architectural decisions related to state management, networking, data persistence, offline support, and release processes
- Contribute hands-on to the codebase, focusing on complex or high-impact areas
- Partner with product, design, and backend teams to deliver consumer-facing features
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to an outsourced mobile development team
- Review code and technical designs with a focus on long-term quality and scalability
- Identify technical risks and proactively propose solutions as the platform grows
Requirements / Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant mobile development exposure
- Proven experience designing and maintaining mobile architectures for consumer applications
- Strong understanding of mobile platform fundamentals, including performance, lifecycle management, and platform constraints
- Experience with modern mobile technologies such as Swift, SwiftUI, Kotlin, React Native, Flutter, or similar frameworks
- Working knowledge of Python
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Experience collaborating with or guiding external or outsourced engineering teams
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-growing, evolving environments
Preferred Experience
- Experience scaling mobile applications with a growing user base
- Background in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with backend APIs (REST or GraphQL) and mobile security best practices
- Experience contributing to platform strategy across multiple teams

Benefits
- Base salary: $195,000 – $215,000 per year
